Mr. Willis Brown

Mr. Willis Brown graduated from Peabody High School, which was the oldest African American High School in Virginia. He recalls growing up in Petersburg before and during the civil rights movement. Mr. Brown shares stories of the school system at that time, and how he use to shop in the stores at Sycamore Street, but was not able to eat in the restaurants. He also shares how he was personally affected by the assassination of Dr. King.
