Dr. Florence Saunders Farley, a Virginia State University graduate, later became a professor of Psychology at the school and eventually became the Chairperson of the department. Dr. Farley grew up in Roanoke and shares the differences she observed between her hometown and Petersburg. Although she grew up in a segregated area, her initial visits to Petersburg had an impact on her. Dr. shares many stories about the public school system in the city of Petersburg and her experiences at Virginia State University.
